BIOGRAPHY & BACKGROUND
Johnson Arthur was born on February 2, 1985, Ngara estate, Nairobi, the then government quarters in Parklands as a last born in a family of three siblings.He is the son to Emily Ayoti Kubasu Sakaja and Kubasu Sakaja. His mother died while he was nine years old.
He is the current senator of Nairobi County after he was elected during the 2017 general elections.
EDUCATION & CAREER
He went to Aga Khan Nursery and Primary school up to 1998 and later joined Lenana School in 1999. In high school, he was the
vice chairman of the law society as well as prefects’ coordinator. His oratorical skills were unmatched and he went on to emerge the winner in public speaking in the National Music Festival with his piece, “My Country Kenya. He completed his secondary education in 2002. He joined University of Nairobi in 2003 to atudy Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science. However, he didn't complete the degree course.
his first job at Pricewatercoopers (PWC,) at the age of 19. he 35 year old politician lost his job a year prompting him to work for his auntie who owned a cyber cafe. He had a keen interest in music and followed up on this interest by writing several rap songs which he never got to produce. The industrious politician had several businesses while in campus including the Arthur Johnson Consultants which is running to date.
Recently, he was cleared by IEBC where it was evident that, he was a graduate from Uganda based University, Team University. Authenticity of the academic credentials is still doubtful.
In 2005, he was among the students who were at the forefront when they rallied for the proposed Constitution. He was part of the Kibaki campaign team in 2007. He served as the director of Vijana na lobby group.
He was among the individuals who helped in the formation of The National Alliance (TNA). At that time, he was 26 years old. The party later put Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto in power as President and Deputy President respectively. He
then became the chairman of the ruling party, a role he served until TNA merged with 12 other parties to form the Jubilee Coalition in 2016. The party nominated him as a member of Parliament.
He was elected the senator of Nairobi County through the Jubilee party in 2017. He represented the interests of Nairobi county residents in Senate. He participated in law making of the county by debating, considering and approving bills.
He tabled the following bills while in Parliament:
The Private Society Regulation Bill, provides for a framework of cooperation between private security companies and the national security organs.
The national youth employment authority bill, creates a national employment authority that shall actively seek opportunities for all job seekers in its database seboth nationally and internationally, and prepare the emfor those opportunities through capacity building programs.
Public procurement and asset disposal act 2015 whichprovides 30% procurement reservation criteria for youths, women and persons with disabilities.
The Disaster Risk Management Bill, providing for a more effective organization of disaster risk management and mitigation, of preparedness for, response to and recovery from emergencies and disasters.
He also served as:
Member of Liaison committee in the National Assembly.
Patron of the Kenya professional boxing commission.
Executive member of the Kenya National Private Security Workers.
Chairman of the Kenya Young Parliament Association, consisting of people aged 35 years and below.
Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Welfare.
Vice Chairman of the Committee on National Security, Defense and Foreign Relations.
Patron of AFC Leopards Football Club.
MARRIAGE
Johnson Sakaja is family man. He is married to one wife and together they have two son. His wife is said to be a daughter of 'Mumbi'.

CONTROVERSIES
In playing his role as a senator, the senator viciously attacked the Governor for running a dysfunctional executive, being abusive and employing bullying tactics by intimidation and even physical assault.
Before the county boss was reduced to a ceremonial governor, the two never saw eye to eye.
Politics being what it is, Sakaja faulted the police in the manner in which Sonko was manhandled when he attempted to evade arrest. The once bigger than life politician was humbled as he was cuffed by overzealous police officers.
In another overwhelmed controversial, Sakaja is accused by his political critics as one who faked documents to favor his bid for Governatorial seat. His degree of Team University(bachelor in business management) has been doubted as not legit. He has endured the controversy and he is determined to win the Election as the New Nairobi County Governor through United Democratic Alliance(UDA).
He has also been a sensation in the social Media where they crashed with KTN News News Anchor, Zubeida Koome. He responded to Koome that he was not ready to respond to irreverent questions after Kananu wanted to know if Sakaja was his real name.
