Mulamwah is a Kenyan comedian and an online content creator. The upcoming comedian draws his inspiration from real life situations and wishes to empower others. He has managed to find the niche and garner a large social media audience and here are some facts about his life. He has also featured in comedy platform, Churchill show. He has over millions of followers across Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. He has also hundred of thousands subscribers in his Youtube channel. He also owns Mulamwah Entertainment which has mentored young artists like Ruth K.
He is also a father to one daughter, Keilah Oyando. He dated Carol Sonnie before they parted ways as he accused carol of exploitment and cheating on him.
REAL NAME AND EARLY LIFE
Mulamwah was born David Oyando in 1993 in Butere. Mulamwah aspired to be like Redykyulas’ KJ, Anthony Njuguna and Nyambane and Red Kona’s Mdomo Baggy
and Kajairo, and Vitimbi’s Mzee Ojwang and Mama Kayai.
His dream of acting was becoming hard to him since had a strict father who was believed education was the Key to success and joining acting groups in school was prohibited.
COMEDY CAREER
He went to St Anthony’s boy’s high school in Kitale, where he obtained a grade A at KCSE.
He joined Moi University to study Nursing Degree in 2012. However, he was free to do what he wanted since his dad could not monitor him everytime. The university Christian Union(C.U) brought a platform for him to grow his comic skills. He would act short kits and through a DJ he was connected to group of Comedians in Eldoret. The group had a comedy show every Sunday and David’s stage name was Muindi. This sustained him with little
pocket money.
Together with his friends, they started hosting shows at school where they would discuss relevant issues among college students. Mulamwah talks of his story when he came to Nairobi and had to sell his phone in order to get fare to go to Churchill show auditions. He attended many auditions while being sent back home until he finally got a chance to perform.
His breakthrough came when he shared a video narrating his high school life and went viral on social media. He has since clambered the heights to become a renowned comedian and superstar, though his comedy is not celebrated by many.
Recently, he got trolled by Kenyans on Twitter terming his jokes as lame and lacking content. He was also body-shamed due to his strong African descent/appearance. He went ahead to announce quitting comedy, citing that he
could take no more of the trolls and shaming. He however came back later as the drama involved in the move only
made him more famous.
He shocked many when he came back with awesome content and with such an unexpected wave. He has grown his brand to a level where he gets brand endorsements and advertising deals which earns him lots of money. He has since established an entertainment company called “Mulamwah Entertainment” where he has signed several upcoming artists like ‘Val Wambo’.
MARRIAGE
The comedian was in a relationship with actress Caroline Muthoni, who is known among her fans as Carrol Sonie.
They lost a baby they were expecting and the two seemed at the time inseparable.
The two have since gone separate ways.
He is the biological father of Keilah
Oyando.
